Arrival: Amman, Jordan

                                                                          اهلا و سهلا الى الاردن

Our first glimpse of Jordan as we descended to Queen Alia International Airport

We made it! I don’t think I have ever seen so many U.S. Air Marshals in one place than at our gate as we waited for our flight. BUT, after a slight delay for security reasons we were on our way. Royal Jordanian’s service was great overall - nothing terribly important to report about the flight. Upon arrival – and waiting 45 minutes at the baggage claim for our luggage to arrive – we met Wedad, a friend I (Stephen) met through church in DC. She generously offered to pick us up at the airport and, to me and Mallory’s delight, offered to give us the lay of the land. More pictures will be forthcoming (Mallory and I are exhausted and will be getting up early to make the trek to Israel and I honestly just want to go to sleep); however, Wedad and Saleem gave us a thorough, albeit brief tour of this wonderful city we will be inhabiting for the next seven months. What an adventure! Pray for continued health as we’ll be trying lots of new foods and visiting all kinds of exciting new places. More to come!
